One Linux VM was recently upgraded to ESXi 4.1 and found that all of the Windows servers work fine but the Linux server will not boot.
The error message when the linux server tries to boot suggests trying to boot with the NOAPIC option
Solution:
From Redhat AS4 update 7, 'noapic' is disabled. Kernel versions before have to hardcord 'noapic' under grub.conf
